This was exactly what I was looking for, it's rigid and has a velvet-like backing so it won't slide on the desk. It's a good thickness and doesn't roll or bend, and the vinyl surface has just the right amount of give for writing which is what I wanted. I think it's pretty overpriced for what you get, but there are literally no other options out there that aren't real leather and hundreds of dollars so I'm pretty happy with this, just wish it were cheaper..
