The duvet feels somewhat heavy on its own but that is just me because I use duvets without the inserts because I am a very hot sleeper even in the winter time. The duvet without the insert looks just fine for me and I'm hoping it's not too heavy but since I live in the north I think it'll be just right. I also feel that since my bed is a queen I would have liked this duvet to be a little bit larger for more of an overhang, I should have ordered a king size just for the extra overhang.. The textured seersucker design gives it a much more upscale look than I expected for the price. It has that clean, relaxed hotel style without looking overly formal or stiff. The comforter itself is incredibly soft and lightweight, but it still feels cozy enough at night. I tend to get hot when I sleep, so I was worried it might trap heat, but it breathes really well and has been comfortable even through warmer nights. The matching shams tie everything together nicely and make the bed look finished without needing a bunch of extra decorative pillows. Another thing I appreciated was how true the color was compared to the photos online. Sometimes bedding arrives looking completely different, but this looked exactly as expected. It also washed really well with no bunching or weird texture changes afterward, which is a huge plus for me because I do not want high maintenance bedding.
