These are amazing! I have slipped down our all wood tread stairs twice. The first time, I broke a coupla ribs. The second time I slipped I was three stairs from reaching the carpeted basement, holding our puppy. This last time I was just furious and fed up with them. I called a carpet place immediately and had someone come out to provide a bid for a runner but then? I just thought I'd check Wayfair. . . Wow. I am SO happy I did and with the help of all the five-star reviews on these, I ordered the closest color and best pattern. They are amazing!!! They adhere well to the treads, they fit the bullnose and I no longer have to clutch the railing like my life depends on it. Not to mention our little furry friend will be more likely to learn to go up and down, with these in place. If this is an item you need? Just buy them. Figure out which ones look best because they probably won't match your existing carpet, and then love your stairs. Also our steps are varying widths. We center the top stair in each flight, and then used a pattern to make sure the distance on the left side (in the image) was consistent. I am a discerning customer and it was important to me that these looked good and felt good under foot. They do both. With a nice finished edge all around, they lay flat and the adhesive makes them grip firmly.. Sue Brandon. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Tue Oct 20 2026

These stair treads are very pretty and stay put with double sided carpet tape. The color shows up better than the pictures but is not garish.. Mary. Aiken, SC. Thu Sep 10 2026

I'm really happy with these stair carpets- it was hard to find ones with the correct dimensions for my staircase which has pretty thick edging, and in the color that matches my painted stairs and is textured. I was worried they weren't going to be soft/cushioned enough, but the cross texture feels comfortable on my feet and adds that extra traction I was looking for. All around a great purchase! *Some things to note- it was hard to peel the thin plastic off the back, so just take your time with it, and make sure the Velcro truly lines up with the carpet edge or it will look crooked and not stick right. When instructions say 2inches out, they really mean that. We were off by maybe 1/16th inch and it wouldn't stay folded underneath correctly.. Anonymous. Sun Jul 19 2026

The Non-Slip Washable Indoor Stair Treads are awesome! I had old wooden steps and they are about years old. These were shipped speedily and were easy to take the plastic off the back and the sticky stuff on the back adhered to my steps immediately! Which was great. It literally took me 20 minutes to put them on. And look at the difference! Love these . Plus they are lightweight and WASHABLE! In Wisconsin you need that expecially in the winter time! Love these. I wouldv'e however liked them more if they were a differnt color because these will show alot of dirt. But throw them in the washer and your all set!. Peggy. El Cajon, CA. Wed Oct 21 2026

It sounds like some customers are expecting too much or haven't read the description. This is a "temporary" solution, even though it is also billed as durable and long lasting. This is not intended to be a decorating highlight. I ordered two, cut them to fit, and they were lifesavers during construction/remodeling of a two-story home. While they will not fit tight to stairs without reinforcement, they do however stay pretty securely in place, and literally saved my cream carpeted stairs from potential extreme damage and wear from contractors, movers, and us during a very dirty period for the house. Caught so much dirt, washable, didn't look great, but served the purpose of temporarily protecting the carpet in a superior way. Due to the foam backing, it did not shift (not much - had to be periodically readjusted) under the feet of movers carrying hundreds of pounds upstairs with no tears or holes like plastic or paper. No need for damaging and difficult adhesive. When used as a temporary solution, an excellent option to protect your home. Only 4 stars just because it can shift and bunch a little and can't think of a real solution for that. Still, a lifesaver - was glad to pay the money to protect expensive carpet.. Suzette.
