The color is perfect, although the wood grain is painted on rather than real wood and some color rubbed off when I removed a scuff that was on the front of a drawer when I unboxed it. It had 1,000 pieces and 1,000 steps to put it together, but it was pretty easy - just time consuming. It’s quite sturdy feeling and looks great. My only complaint is that the locking mechanism that keeps only one drawer open at a time is kind of loud and clanky.
