No two pieces will be the exact same and occasional splinters may be present.

This is a nice cover for my gas stove. Keep in mind that each one will be different. It doesn't quite lay flat, so that's disappointing and there is a big gouge in one piece of the wood, where I was hoping it would be more level as I have to use it for counter space. We can't afford to usually purchase things like this, but it is my birthday, anniversary and Christmas gift this year from my hubby. The price is very high, so that's the other disappointment, but I needed it. It's not as heavy as it looks, FYI. It's quite light in fact and the heaviest part is probably the handles? So far I have been using these boards and other form the manufacture. The smaller boards I ordered from the company directly had an off gas these did not. So I am guessing they have fully cured. I bought these to try and stay away form plastics. It is always a question if the resin has any plastic in it which is hard to understand. That all said the boards are nice.
