When I see something described as solid wood I expect the whole thing to be solid wood. The backing is flimsy MDF as are the drawer bottoms. The drawers are extremely delicate I would not purchase this unit to store anything. Assembly took 4 hours (with screw gun) and I’ve built a lot of furniture. There was an improperly constructed hole preventing one of the fasteners working to hold the top on (ultimately not necessary for function, luckily). This console is sturdy and well constructed for the price point. The legs are solid wood and heavy. The top assembly with drawers comes fully assembled and is also very solid. Went together easily and was easy to level in the final place it sits. Drawers are fairly good, but don’t expect perfection there. I have put several pieces of furniture together before so it's not new to me on how to follow the instructions. In fact the instructions are pretty clear it's just that you have to assemble this unit from scratch. Every piece has to be assembled. The problem is the pegs seem to be too short for the job.
