The trash can looks fancy and has two okay size compartments to separate recyling and regular trash. Just wish it didn’t need batteries to operate. Also, the lid cannot be locked to the can which is a bummer. Anonymous. Thu Oct 22 2026

Keep your garbage out of sight anywhere in your home with the 13.2-gallon and 3.2-gallon dual stainless steel motion sensor trash cans from nine stars. These stainless steel trash cans feature motion sensor lids that use infrared technology to automatically open when motion is detected within 10 inches or at a 130-degree angle from the sensor. The lids will then stay open while they sense debris in range, and softly close 3 seconds after you move away. Additionally, manual mode keeps the trash can lids open longer, giving you more time to clean up larger messes with ease. Replaceable ring liners in each trash can hold your trash bag in the bin to keep the bag from falling as you throw away the trash. The receptacle's sleek, stainless steel design doesn't show fingerprints and has a non-skid base to keep your kitchen, bathroom, or office looking its best. The trash cans require 3 C-sized batteries (large) and 2 C-sized batteries (small) for operation. With a sleek design and expert functionality, your home will always feel clean with the 13.2-gallon and 3.2-gallon dual stainless steel motion sensor trash cans from nine stars.

Nice size. I don’t like how the logo is etched on the front of it. And I don’t like how when the top opens it can seem a little flimsy (it wiggles around and isn’t as smooth and steady). In the end though, it serves its purpose of holding my garbage so it’s fine.. Melissa. Manalapan, NJ. Thu Oct 15 2026

Keep your kitchen tidy without ever touching the lid. A responsive infrared sensor opens the lid as you approach, and a button lets you hold it open for up to 10 minutes while you cook or clean. It runs on 4 standard AA batteries - cheaper and easier to find than the D cells many sensor cans require. The removable bag ring grips liners tight and hides the bag edge, so bags go in and come out without snagging, and the fingerprint-resistant steel body wipes clean in seconds.

I got this to replace two smaller trash cans in our master bath and I am very happy with the choice. The matte black matches our other finishes. Just the right size for the bathroom and is very easy to install the batteries. Bonus it came with trash bags.. Penelope. Lexington, KY. Mon Aug 24 2026

The trash can looks nice and that's all it has going for it. The sensor is not as sensitive as it should be to pickup motion and to stay open while dumping trash into it. The lid closes very shortly after you wave to open it but needs close proximity to the sensor to detect for open. There are times it would not open until you were about 2 inches from it. The lid also stayed open if your hand was in it and the sensor did not detect your movement while dumping until you waved over the sensor again. I would not recommend this trash can.. Michael. I love that the garbage is not exposed in the bathroom. I love automatically garbage cans. The main reason I bought it wasn’t to keep my kitty from pulling sanitary napkins, and used baby wipes out the garbage lol. It takes 3C batteries.. I bought energizer because I ain’t no touch garbage can in the kitchen and they usually last a year of the batteries. So definitely worth the purchase.. Danielle. North Bergen, NJ. Fri Jul 03 2026
