This ceiling fan is surprisingly lightweight compared to others I’ve installed in the past. While the blades are plastic, they have a high-quality wood look finish that looks great once mounted up. It does a fantastic job keeping the space cool for the kids in their gaming area. Make sure you get smaller bulbs with lower watts, standard light bulbs do not fit within the dome and higher wattage bulbs (over 60w) produced rather harsh light. We have a ceiling light in a hallway that does not have a wall switch so the ceiling fixture requires a pull chain. This is an excellent low profile option on its own (no ceiling fan).
