What a great bench. First, it's pretty easy to put together. I broke my finger and my whole hand is in a cast and I was still able to do it. There are some bolts and holes that are tricky to line up, but that's pretty common. The build quality is excellent. It's very sturdy and heavy duty. Love!! I was able to start the project. Took me 3 1/2 hours to build the bottom part and the top part. Once I got to the steps of having to attached the bottom and top part, it became a two person job. The hardest part was aligning the top part to the base. All together, maybe took 4-5 hours. I recommend laying out all the pieces as there are many while being careful not having them scratch each other. It took time but was so worth it! Pressed wood but seems sturdy. The good stuff: Looks as shown in the picture. Not difficult to assemble. Very solid with high quality paint job. Fits well in the space where I wanted it and with the shelves in place can store about 8 pairs of most (flat) shoes behind the two doors. On the down side: 2 of the hinges were very tight. the pre-patterned places to install one of the doors was slightly off so the one door looks uneven and does not close properly with the magnet. the fabric on the cushion is very chintzy- I will end up recovering it (which is not a big deal)..
