It was relatively easy to assemble because we had all the parts/pieces, pre-drilled holes were accurate, and we took our time understanding the directions before we built. It was easy enough that after completing the first 3 steps together, I handed it off to my 13 year old to complete. Is it the best piece of cheap furniture I've ever purchased? No. But does it do the trick? Absolutely. The knobs don't seem the sturdiest but it's absolutely sufficient. It was $89.99 which was a bit more than I would have wanted to pay for something made from cheap I don't even know what kind of board covered in cheap fabric but it fit my color scheme and there are a lot of drawers for our extra toiletries, cards and stamps, nail polish, knick knacks, etc. The drawers are a little hard to pull in and out but it's not really a problem.
