Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes / Woodstock Percussion, in 1979 and it remains based in New York's Hudson Valley. GRAMMY Award-winning musician Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. As a professional musician and instrument designer, he was fascinated by the Scales of Olympos, a 7th-century pentatonic scale that can't be played on a modern piano. Garry had the idea to cut and tune the lawn chair chime tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime and is still one of our best-selling wind chimes.

This whimsical indoor/outdoor wind chime is a colorful, musical accent for your patio or deck. This 39'' tall wind chime has five ascending strands with glittering butterflies and bells on the end of each. We love that the gold-finished solid iron base is weather-resistant, so it's safe to hang even in an open outdoor space like your garden or on your lawn. Best of all, the circular frame has space between each bell strand, so they only twinkle in the wind, not tangle.

The enchanting sound of this chime is the result of a special tuning using the “golden ratio.” This ratio, discovered by the ancient Greeks, can be found throughout nature. Lapis, also called lapis lazuli, is a beautiful blue-colored stone often found with veins of white marble. The ancient Egyptians used lapis to represent heaven. They made amulets, ornaments and even ground it to be used as eye shadow. This shade of blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. We blended blue stone beads with a faux lapis windcatcher to create our beautiful Blue Lapis Chime.

Charming earth-toned fliers turn your garden into a summertime meadow. This chime produces joyful tones reminiscent of distant church bells. It pays tribute to a period when gardens and meadows were treasured and craftsmen created decorative metalwork to adorn them. The essence of summertime is represented by the hummingbird design of the top piece and the cast metal clappers of hummingbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, and amber-colored beads. The rust finish offers a natural beauty that warms up the steel elements with an earthy, brown color and an interesting, weathered texture.
