This cabinet bed really surprised me—in a good way. The overall build quality is excellent. That said, be prepared assembly is no joke. This is definitely a multi-hour project and not something I’d recommend tackling solo unless you’re very experienced. Only 4 stars because it was a great value, otherwise it’d be 3. I am a fairly talented handyman and it took me 12 hours to assemble which I knew it would be long but not quite that much. The panels that make the front are ok but not great; definitely not a fine piece of furniture but decent for the price. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. We love this item! It was delivered professionally during our delivery window. We followed the directions and installed it ourselves. Putting it together was simple, but it does require some comfort with tools to install/secure the entire bed and shelving units to the floor and wall. We are very happy with this item. After install, I bought a pack of hole plugs to cover the many holes running on the inside of the shelving unit, and it improved the overall look. Overall the kit is nice, It took me about 14 hrs so far to put together the bed section and the cabinet with the drawers. The last cabinet will be quick and i still have to anchor everything to the walls. The total project probably takes 20hrs for a individual who is somewhat skilled at these things. My issues are mostly around the instruction booklet. They are not laid out in a useful and logical manner. You have to flip between pages to find out where things are packaged and then build up your pile of parts before starting a section, also they suggest you start with the bedshell but it is most logical to start with the cabinets. It also has some steps that make more sense to be performed in different orders to minimize movement of the objects and make your life easier. They also don't always specify the orientation of parts which is VERY important for later steps. If the instructions were better i probably would have saved 3-4 hrs of labor. I’d definitely recommend 2 people to install. 1 person to read, interpret the instructions (they’re only pictures), and pass the correct screws 1 person to screw it all together. We used a mixture of the hand screwdriver and the electric one. There are ALOT of screws so def have both handy. It took us about 6 hours with a few 15 min breaks. It’s a great space-saving solution that also looks attractive and blends nicely into the room. Assembly took about 6 hours with one person, even though the instructions recommend two people. That said, the directions were straightforward and easy to follow. Most of the pre-drilled holes were properly aligned, which made the process smoother than expected. There was some minor cosmetic damage on one panel and a small gap between panels, as shown in the photos, but both are in areas that aren’t very visible, so it’s not a major concern. While I haven’t fully tested the mattress yet, it seems like it will hold up well for occasional guest use.
