We love this item! It was delivered professionally during our delivery window. We followed the directions and installed it ourselves. Putting it together was simple, but it does require some comfort with tools to install/secure the entire bed and shelving units to the floor and wall. We are very happy with this item. After install, I bought a pack of hole plugs to cover the many holes running on the inside of the shelving unit, and it improved the overall look. Very nice bed once you get it put together. It took me and my husband 2 days to put it together. There were parts left over so we worried that we might have missed some steps. Assembly took ~6 person hours with a couple of mistakes that required taking some pieces apart and reassembling. Multiple pieces were not labeled with numbers and the instructions were somewhat difficult to follow. This piece is very sturdy but note that it weighs ~240 lbs in total. Converting it from a cabinet to a bed is definitely a 2 person operation as the top is quite heavy. A 6" trifold mattress just barely fits - it makes it hard to use the latch and puts pressure on the front panel such that it slightly bends outwards. It’s a great space-saving solution that also looks attractive and blends nicely into the room. Assembly took about 6 hours with one person, even though the instructions recommend two people. That said, the directions were straightforward and easy to follow. Most of the pre-drilled holes were properly aligned, which made the process smoother than expected. There was some minor cosmetic damage on one panel and a small gap between panels, as shown in the photos, but both are in areas that aren’t very visible, so it’s not a major concern. While I haven’t fully tested the mattress yet, it seems like it will hold up well for occasional guest use. The directions are pretty much ok and on point. However, the last section for attaching the legs to the last section of board had the instructions mirroring what holes were drilled on the actual wood. So you basically had to guess. There also are some strange areas that should have guidance holes drilled, like the main cabinet portion for drilling the slots in, they did not. And the instructions clearly state if you do not space the boards correctly it will break and that is where your head is supposed to go, so not sure that's ideal.
