Love how this bed turned out! It feels very sturdy and secure, easy to pull the bed down and it goes back up just as easy. It looks so great in my guest bedroom. I needed something that was compact since its a small room and not used often for guest, but mainly for me to craft in. All in all it took me about 4 hours to put together by myself. All the parts were there. With a few extra that had me second guessing if I put it to together correctly. Its pretty simple and the picture instructions do help. The storage drawer is nice to hold blankets and pillows. I bought a 6 memory foam mattress. Once folded up and the doors closed it looks like there is a few extra inches to maybe fit a bigger one Not entirely sure. Definitely a gamble to take if you decide to go bigger. We really appreciate that the bed pieces are all wood. No particleboard at all! It took a while to put together, so we would say to allow extra time before someone needs to sleep on it. Be patient and you’ll have a great piece! Our wall studs did not match up to the suggested positions for the anchors, so we adapted that to our needs and used two extra anchors. The hydraulic arms are very strong, so you need to be careful with the construction to have someone hold the top vertical if opening the bed while under construction. Once the anchors are in place, the unit is absolutely solid and when a mattress is added, the pressure from those pieces do exactly what they should - allowing the bed to lowered and raised smoothly and safely . Comes in 4 boxes, received 2 on one day the other 2 the next day. Really nice set, pretty happy with it. Couple of extras that we are doing to it, the brackets to hold the frame to the wall can be seen when bed is down just going to paint them white to make it less noticeable. The barrel of the hinge for the shelf can be seen when the bed is in the up postion. Definitely need to support the bed frame to the wall and into the studds a must. The bed is beautiful. It folds up really nicely and does not look like a Murphy bed at all. Much better than the pics! However, the instructions say it takes two hours to build. This exceeded my expectations. Three huge heavy boxes and the boxes were dented but the materials inside were so well padded that everything was intact. It took me hours to put it together but I did it without help. Directions were fine but could use more detail, particularly with orientation of the wooden pieces. The pieces on the sliders work well. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it.
