This is a nice sturdy desk. It does take hours to put together but the instructions are easy to follow and very accurate. I gave it only 4 stars because of the time it takes and the fact that the electrical part of the desk could have been easier to hide cords and such. Be aware that the 55” measurement is for the desk part only. The drawer area is not included in this measurement. The desk itself is good. Lots of space on the top level for two (or three) monitors. Plenty of workspace on the desk. Standing function a big plus and works well. The only thing I don’t like is that the bottom drawer isn’t a file folder. The drawer could have been made deep enough for this feature but for some reason it was not included in the design. Came well packaged. A few pieces chipped (small) and some dirty (cleaned up well). This is a 'solid wood' desk but it still feels cheaply made. I have had lots of time to review the pieces as it did not come with assembly instructions. I have requested them and it apparently takes a whole business day to respond with the instructions that should have been included. If you think you may want assembly, make sure you order at the same time. My order gave me the option after the fact, and I tried to add the service and it charged my card. Then the message (and follow up chat) told me it wasn't eligible to add assembly. Now I have to wait 3-5 days for the charge to be reversed.
