Only issue is that I was going to keep it under a shelf designed to go over a trash can. If I push it all the way in, the shelf (not moving) triggers the open. There is nothing more you can ask for from a trash can! It has a motion sensor to open the lid and a push button to close it. I like this one better than the other motion sensor trash cans I have had in the past, because they open and close automatically and sometimes they close before I’m ready. You can keep this one open as long as you want, and then just push the button to close it. It uses four AA batteries which are easily placed into the lid.
