Wow, this is a beautiful lantern. Arrived very securely packaged. I found the same item on another (much more expensive) website before I found the exact same thing here at a substantially better price (kicking myself over that one). This lantern is just beautiful in both day and night environments, but especially at night, when the colors reflect on the surface the lantern is sitting on. The solar bulb is bright, allowing for the beautiful reflective design. The thickness of the glass is substantial -- it doesn't feel like it will break easily. These lanterns are beautiful! I got the bronze. They are well made with attention to detail. The instructions state to charge them for 6 hours. I received them at 3:45 pm. My apartment faces east, and the sun was already over my apartment building, no longer on my balcony or coming in any windows. I set them on the balcony receiving only daylight. At dark, they lit right up full power. So, either they were already charged, or the daylight was adequate for charging. I get only about 3 hours of sun on my balcony due to trees and the building east of mine being higher on a ridge and blocking sun at times , so they have never been charged for 6 hours straight. Instructions: 1. You need to turn on the ON/OFF switch on the solar panel, keep the switch in the ON position. 2. You need to charge the solar fence lights in the sun for 6-8 hours. 3. You need to use screws to fix these outdoor solar lights on the wall, fence or other places. 4. You can see the fence solar lights light up in the evening or at night. 5. In winter, remove the snow or the dust from the solar panel so that it can be better charged. The working hours normally reduce at winter due to the soft/weak sunlight.
