UPDATE..... Wayfair made good on the problem that I had with my floor lamp and sent me a replacement lamp pole/base. I have only owned it for less than a month and I went to move it today from my living room and into my dining room. As soon as I picked it up by the column with two hands, the base broke completely off of the column. It's like the once assembled you cannot lift it as the top 3/4 of the column is heavier than the base causing it to separate. I am devastated as I just love this lamp. The first lampshade that came in was unfortunately broken— It wasnt packaged very well, so I wasnt entirely surprised — but I sent in a report and they immediately sent out a replacement which was in one piece! It is a bit wobbly when placed on a thick carpet, so if you plan to have it sitting out in the open, rhats something to be aware of. I have it behind my couch and it has been safe there.
