100% Felt rug pad designed to add comfort and floor protection under rugs. Reversible for use on hard surfaces and carpet, ideal for uneven surfaces, and reduces puckering under heavy furniture. It can be cut at home to custom-fit any rug. Ideally, the rug pad should be cut approximately 1-2" short of the rug perimeter. Your rug pad dimensions will be a few inches shorter than the size of the area rug. This is NOT a defect nor is it the wrong item, the rug pads are made this way to avoid causing the rug to have a lip which would get in the way of walking, a door opening etc.

Rug pad use is required for all area rugs, in all applications. The rug pad is the foundation for your carpet, responsible for enhancing both comfort and durability. The rug pad is meant to serve as a barrier between the rug and the floor, reducing friction and wear on the rug, as a result of foot traffic. Secondly, the rug pad grips the rug, allowing the rug to lay flat, drape down on the edges, and optimize its visual appearance. The third purpose of a rug pad is to prevent the rug from slipping and bubbling when walked on, to ensure safety. The quality and construction of rug pads are surprisingly very relevant.

Hands down the best dug pad Ive ever come across. Keeps carpet cleaner and off the floor below it. Richard. US. Mon Dec 25 2023
