We’re extremely happy with the Touchstone Sideline Elite fireplace. The flame looks very realistic and bright, and being able to adjust the flame speed is a great feature. The flame and base color options are excellent and don’t look cheap at all. It’s definitely worth the extra cost compared to cheaper options—this looks and functions like a very high-end fireplace without having to spend thousands more. It added a beautiful, premium touch to our new media wall. It came with a log, driftwood and crystals. So, you can style it however you like. The only downside was the shipping speed. Delivery through Wayfair took about two weeks, which caused some inconvenience. Other than that, the fireplace itself is amazing. Nice symmetry when paired with a 65" TV. Easy install. We framed out a 2x6" wall in front of the existing 2x4" in living room wall. Ran a dedicated 20 amp circuit because all these wall fireplaces pull a lot of power when on high. Used a recessed outlet in 2x4" wall directly behind fireplace rough in. Absolutely gorgeous 3D fireplace. A few small issues were found, but it’s otherwise a beautiful fireplace! First, it advertises that it puts out 10,000 BTU. It has the capability of doing that but it’s really 5,000 BTU unless it’s modified. That should have been clarified a bit more on the product description. Especially since it’s huge and nearly impossible to return once you’ve opened it up. The other issue I found with it is that the app is only compatible if you have 2.4GHz WiFi…I have a smart home and I use Starlink which is a satellite WiFi. The app will not work whatsoever with Starlink and so I can’t use the app at all to turn my fireplace on and off. It has a remote that comes with it so that’s just kind of a minor issue, but I wish (for the price I paid) it would match the ever evolving technology out there.
