This stained glass product has been protected with mineral oil as part of the finishing process. Please use a soft dry cloth to remove any excess oil.

Each piece of real glass is hand-cut and copper foil is wrapped around each individual piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.

I like this lamp. The base is very solid, it stands up well, and it looks nice. I can't in good conscience give it more than two stars for two primary reasons: First, it claims to be glass, but I've never met glass that makes a dead "thud" sound when you tap it. It seems like molded plastic to me. Second, as pointed out in other reviews, it does not have a rotary switch - it has a foot switch. The listing on Wayfiar is blatantly incorrect/false/deceptive, take your pick of adjective. If the listing wasn't deceptive I would probably give this five stars. Just beware of what you are buying..
