I knew it wasn’t marble but the description is misleading because it says stone, not laminated stone. I was under the impression this would be a faux travertine all stone tabletop. Great table for our use. LOVE the marble look glass top. It is a little narrower than many, which we needed. It's compact unextended (self storing leaves) easily seating 6. Extends for us to seat 8 or 10. The leaves extend and stow away easily and smoothly. Did need a helper to position it in the room after assembly. But it's weight makes it feel substantial. The table is beautiful, I’m happy with it. It’s very heavy and it was hard to set up. For some reason it sounds like metal, but it looks beautiful. There was also a small bump. I lightly scratched it with my nail and it seemed like the paint came off. I chose it because it was supposed to be scratch-resistant. It’s the first day today, so we’ll see how it performs in use..
