We love this set of Mikasa bone china. We bought it to replace another Mikasa set that has a metal lining on every plate. We specifically wanted one that was dishwasher and microwave safe. The artwork on the plates is beautiful and looks much better in person. The plates are lightweight and much lighter than our equivalent size ceramic plates. They didn't stain after we ate curry on them. We hand washed and also washed them in the dishwasher. They came out perfect both times. If I can edit my review later, I'll try to add some photos. I’m honestly so happy with these dishes! They’re even prettier in person and the quality is really good. They feel sturdy without being too heavy, and the little details on the Chirp design are just beautiful. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them already. The Mikasa French Countryside flatware set is a quaint design, versatile enough to coordinate with multiple decorating styles. It has a highly polished finish which I plan to hand wash and dry most of the time, although Im sure it would hold up well in the dishwasher. The weight and balance is good, but I find it slightly more cumbersome to use than another set I have. In my pictures I show another older European sized set that is slightly larger, and a vintage set that I consider human sized, along with the Mikasa set in the center.
