Beautiful and high quality. The wood appears to be solid. Assembly took two of us about 90 min. Tips on assembly clear lots of space because shelves are long and you need to take them out to get to pieces and hardware for Step 1. Before putting brass pegs into M1 and M2 (Step 1), be sure they will slide into the brass cylinders inset in the shelves (see Step 3) - we had to rotate a couple cylinders using the small screws used in Step 2. In Step 2, don’t put in the screws. Instead put them in after you connect each shelf to pieces M1 and M2 in Steps 3-6. Put felt sliders on legs before putting unit upright. It weighs about 90 lbs. **We purposefully excluded one shelf while building to allow clearance for our record player** Color is beautiful in person. Great quality. Sturdy and heavy. Simple but time-consuming assembly. Took us (2 people) about half a day, but it was 100 worth it! The stickers for the screw holes are nearly invisible if you line up the wood grains, but they aren’t very sticky. This is a real wood bookcase, and it’s incredibly solid! The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The shelf was so heavy that it shipped in two boxes. I was a bit disappointed that it arrived on separate days, but I was excited to assemble it right away. The only complaints I have are a few minor things. The little stickers that cover the holes don’t match the color of the shelf. The inside top edge of the shelf wasn’t stained completely, and there are a couple of small nicks in the wood.. Pam. this is an excellent piece. The construction is amazing. They only had to put on the legs and the four knobs. I personally think the piece should have been 400.00 to 500.00 less when I compared it with other pieces. I only paid this much because it fit perfect and the style is what I needed.
