I love this bookcase, love the mid century design. Finding something that's not a basic bookcase, or not old-fashioned "traditional", with doors, was hard - but this fits my aesthetic. It was as described. I downsized from a desk with a hutch and a 24" x 24" bookcase. I wanted something that could hide the really utilitarian stuff, so didn't want a regular, all open shelves book case. I was worried because so many reviews said the product came damaged. One of the feet had a scratch on it, so I just put that one in the back. It did require a good wiping off of all the factory dust. It was easy to put together by myself, I think about an hour. The product came in two boxes, each with its own set of directions that were easy to follow. It took me 45 mins to build the bottom section. The doors have a very slight misalignment but I don’t see it being a problem. The top section took about 25 minutes to build by myself. The back section has a piece of tape holding the seam together. It’s a little bit misaligned but not a functionality issues so it’s not that big of a deal. I did get help to lift the top piece on. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell. this is an excellent piece. The construction is amazing. They only had to put on the legs and the four knobs. I personally think the piece should have been 400.00 to 500.00 less when I compared it with other pieces. I only paid this much because it fit perfect and the style is what I needed.
