Emphasizing the thick cushioned seat is a bit misleading. The seat does look like it’s 6” thick, but important to note that its hollow underneath - the actual padding on the seat is no more than 1.5 to 2 inches. Not terribly comfortable, but it looks nice and fits our space just fine. It went together fairly easily by my husband who is quite handy - I would not have been able to do it myself as there were MANY parts to deal with. I LOVE this chair. In all fairness, I must state that my husband hates it. He hates the color and he thinks the fabric looks like "cheap laminated junk". He also is a guy, so his home styling opinions don't really matter. This chair was super easy to assemble, the box was light enough that I could carry up the stairs on my own to the bedroom to assemble. Once assembled the first thing I did was curl up and take a little nap. It's very cozy. So far I've taken a nap in it, did my nails in it, blow dried my hair in it, played a few hours of a dumb game on my phone in it, snuggled with my dog while waiting for some company to leave the house... it's an all purpose chair. Its low, but thats what i love about it. I also love that my dog wont steal it because he hasn't laid in it by himself yet, he only sits on it, or uses it as a step to hop onto the bed. Because the seat isn't flat, but curved i think it throws him off. But thats great because I dont have to shew him out of it when I want to enjoy it. This is pretty much a lay-down chair, you can scoot the cushion up and pretend its a normal chair, but it's not ... get comfy and sink in. My dog did get in the chair and nab a bottled diet coke off of my night stand, bring it into the chair and proceed to open it with his teeth, which made the bottle completely empty into the seat of the chair, but i literally used paper towels to wipe it clean, and you would never know it even happened. It's lightweight enough to move around where you want it easily, but still feels very sturdy. Our bedroom is very versatile when it comes to colors, so the chair fits in fine, even though my husband hates the color. This is exactly how it is pictured. This chair is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. I sunk into it after we completed assembly. The assembly was quite easy. You can easily do this on your own but I had my 12 year old help me to teach him how to assemble furniture. It took about 45 min to an hour but I really believe it would have taken me 45 on my own. If you are getting it, when you insert the bar between the arms on the chair, DO NOT tighten it because when you put the seat in, it will not fit. It’s not that big a deal if you do-you’ll just have to untighten. However, for smoother assembly, just 80 and the seat will fit in easily. Love love love the chair.
