I would give a 10 if I could. I have a bad back and so finding a chair that is comfortable for both short and long periods of time is crucial. This chair is amazing! It hugs just right at the bottom of the shoulder blades and but is designed with a slight flair so as you recline a bit it to adjusts to hold your back without you feeling stiff or in a position that isn’t real. We actually like that they provide the ability to have dinner and then if we choose continue at the table with conversation or even games for long periods of time thereafter. Beautiful, real wood chairs! These chairs are gorgeous and have a solid wood frame that looks very high end. They arrived quickly and were fairly easy to put together...it took about 30-45 minutes (great instructions). The wood is a medium color that will go with a lot of decor styles and the chairs are very comfortable to sit on. The back of the chair has a grab handle built in, so they're also easy to move around and relatively lightweight. The seat and back material seems durable and I think these chairs will hold up for a lot of use. Overall, I'm really, really happy with this chair set. I really love these chairs. They are sturdy, great quality, and the wood is beautiful. They were also a great price. My only complaint is they are bluish gray and not actually charcoal as pictured and advertised, which is not at all what I was going for. I've added a picture of them against a gray wall in my home. Nicely made chairs to replace our midcentury set of chairs that has served us well. These new chairs are the exact dimensions of out old chairs, which is great. Seem very sturdy, like the finish on the wood. Seat size is generous. We built them on the floor, which was a bit unwieldy, probably better to do on a work table. Did not have any issues with misaligned holes, but you really have to make sure you have all the parts lined up properly, definitely need two people to put together.
