This was a big pain to install! Took about 7-8 hours with about 3 of us (we had 2 kids help us so we count them as half each because they were in and out with their "help" lol). Between making sure the bars didnt turn on you and only tightening at 70% but at the end having to find all 100 of the screws to tightening them.... it was a lot. Also I know the sides come with a warning, but please please remember the low ceilings when you have the bed frame up. Adults hits their heads 3 times each before we got the memo. Ouch! However, when all was said and done, my daughter was very happy. The bed edge makes me nervous for sleep purposes, but going to look into possibly a thinner mattress. Maybe even a bed rail of sorts. The bottom loft is very roomy. Has a lot of table space and even the drawers have a lot of room to them. I didn't realize they were cloth drawers, but they are nice and fit a lot. We are very happy with this loft bed. It looks beautiful, feels sturdy, and has really helped maximize the space in my daughter’s room. She now has plenty of room underneath for studying, doing her makeup, and storage. The only issue was the ladder. The steps are narrow and hard on bare feet, and the included pads would roll and didn’t provide enough cushioning. We solved this by adding foam padding around each rung and covering it with soft material. It made a huge difference and the ladder is now much more comfortable to use. This bed was somewhat painful to assemble, it took us about 6 hours of work over the course of 8 hours. The instructions were pretty decent to work through but a couple spots needed adjustments. This one had two spots with tiny issues. The first was noticing the lamination over an edge coming off...but I'm thinking that piece got hidden under the stars. So it should be okay. The other incident was when the "X" bolt got put in backwards (rookie) and when removing it the wood splintered a bit. It's in a spot that's not highly visible, in the top front corner of the desk area, and I don't think it affects the integrity of the unit. And on the front side of the bed is a nice desk. where he does his homework.. however the lights to come with it do not circumference around the whole bottom of the bed.
