The condor represents the people of Peru, while the bull represents the Spanish. If the condor flies, this augurs a good harvest, and musicians accompany the event. Alejandro Chávez crafts the wooden box to house this retablo, or diorama and paints it in vivid colors. The figures are carefully modeled from ceramic plaster and painted by hand.

Vibrant green and deep red cacti each crowned with a soft pink flower. Made from study metal, and with prickly spikes that captures the essence of these iconic desert plants. Circular base for easy, balanced tabletop placement.

All metal cactus sculpture. True to height. Looks great in our desert landscape backyard. The problem I had was that upon opening the box, one of the yellow stems was broken off. Took a picture for the return. No problem, Wayfair sent a replacement out immediately. Surprised they didn’t want the broken one returned. They said to 1. keep it, 2. donate it, or 3. throw it away. Well we kept it and my wife just used the broken pieces elsewhere in her garden. To protect it from our blazing sun here, I sprayed it with a clear coat of sun protection. Will have to wait til the end of summer to see how it holds up. If it wasn’t for the first one being broken, I would have rated 5 stars, but 5 stars for the speed of the replacement.. B. Newhouse.
