A longstanding heritage, made new for your tabletop or bar collection, 10 Strawberry Street Mexican Glassware is the stunning result of artistry meeting function. Since the 1500s, when glassblowing was first introduced to North America, artisans in Puebla have preserved this traditional technique—blowing into a metal conduit to shape and spin glass heated to a molten state in a classic hearth. Passed down through generations, this craft continues today with an eco-friendly twist. Each piece is made from recycled cola bottles—each color uniquely forged by a different artisan—and is completely lead-free, ensuring they are as sustainable and safe as they are timeless and beautiful. However, this cultural art is increasingly at risk, as fewer in the upcoming generations are training in the skill, making each handcrafted piece a true treasure of tradition.

They're made from recycled glass in Mexico, and I was also pleased that they came packaged and wrapped in fully recyclable cardboard products to boot. You can see some air bubbles in the thick glass walls, but those add to the charm. I got the wine glasses as well (pictured for size comparison purposes).
