I purchased this to extend our usable space on our patio. It took 2 people about 5 hours in the Texas heat to put this together. We did have some experience with this type of assembly so that helped streamline things. It definitely needs to be anchored, but once it is the awning is quite stable. The good: We bought the 14x10 and it is heavy duty. I haven't fixed it to my deck yet, but I doubt that would even be necessary because it's heavy and sturdy. It gets 4 stars because I'm confident it will serve its purpose for a long time. The bad: I can't give it 5 stars because assembly was difficult, even with 2 people in their 30s. It took us a total of around 10-12 hours over a few days. When assembling the large/heavy support beams, you will probably need to have some kind of supporting table or shelf to lean them on (or have a person hold a large piece while someone affixes it to another) to prevent bending. You'll also need at least one step ladder and a Phillips head screwdriver, which the description fails to mention and isn't included. I recently had siding put on my home. My contractor sort of refused to put my old awnings back on the house - rightfully so - would have been awful! So, I started searching for suitable choices. Many were negated because they wouldn't have mounted to the siding correctly. Then I found this (and a larger one for my front door but got that one elsewhere as Wayfair didn't have that size) and realized that a mounting kit could be purchased for vinyl siding! Hooray! It's gorgeous - so minimalistic and really matches the house. It hasn't rained yet so I don't know how well it will shield but at least it looks pretty. Nice Pergola It’s solid but a little lower than I had envisioned. The front has a shallow gutter with ends open. I’m a trying to figure out how to hang a gutter. It’s very hard to drill. These were much larger in real life than I was expecting but seemed the right size once installed. They came with decent instructions but pictures only so takes a little to figure out. They came with rubber stripes to put between pieces but they dont make a tight seal so I bought 12 backer strips to add between the frame and plexiglass for a tight seal. The quality of this "iron" gazebo is pretty disappointing. It feels like aluminum and the panels are plastic and are scratched looking put of the box. There is discoloration on one of the panels. Maybe from being in the sun? I am not sure exactly it appears whiteish on the gray panel. Not great since it is meant to be outside. Some of the parts that are metal are bent and scratched. The assembly instructions are awful as well. I have an event in a few days that I purchased this for so hopefully it will come together and not look absolutely cheap and rickety once it is fully assembled.
