I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. Note, this took quite some time for my spouse and I to put together and in the future I'd just hired Taskrabbit for 50 bucks to do it. I almost deducted a star for the instructions that could have been more clear, or the labeling of parts. I had to take it apart 3x during construction and turn the frames around to align them properly, because they weren't all labeled "front" and "back" and the pictures in the back weren't clear, so some of it was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. I didn't figure out which was which until I'd put it together, so I had to deconstruct it and turn things around. But then the finished product came out to be so beautiful and elegant. the bookcase is great. the color is slightly off from the pictures but i expected that based on reviews and it matches my other furniture as a result. maybe have more ergonomic philips head screwdriver ready because the one it comes with hurt my palm quite a bit. only complaint is the mechanism to keep the bookshelf from tilting was confusing. im just going to get a different earthquake strap.. Chic, simple, versatile and durable, this Etagere Bookcase has it all. The paulownia wood shelves are with decorative stains for a rustic effect.

Easy to put together and it looks like the pictures. As other reviews mention, the wood is not real but it’s a pretty good fake. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t come with any wall mounting hardware and they are lightweight enough that they can easily tip if a little one tries to climb them.
