I have extremely hungry deer who are not picky unfortunately! The only truly effective measure is to wrap my precious trees and plants! Thank God there are some they dislike! I am not always home to sprinkle powder or spray deer repellent which are both effective. I bought ultrasonic lights were effective at first then the deer ignored them. The skunks did not appreciate my efforts though so I had to stop using! I avoided mesh because obvious reasons but it's the only sure proof method for me. This is the second type of mesh I've used. The first was more nylon type material and was a bit challenging to work with but super flexible. I wanted this type again but was unavailable so I went with a different one. This second mesh is stiffer and more of a wire consistency but cuts easily with scissors. I would say it is more for use with stakes. The major problem I had was wrapping things too tightly so be aware it's so easy to do and then it must be loosened. This gate is amazing! My dog is terrible about going upstairs and getting on the girls beds. We were struggling to find an attractive looking gate that was wide enough for our large stairs (and black!!! Its not brown). The gate is designed so it stays how you put it. You can stretch it or shrink it as much as desired and it just stays. I love that it slides rather than opens and closes with a door. It makes it much more versatile and compact. It comes with the option to put legs on it that can either roll or pegs to make it stationary. We did not use them because they are too wide for the stairs. This gate is awesome. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. It opens and closes easily with adult human hands, meaning the dogs or my niece can’t open it. It also has a lock, which will be great when my niece is a little older.
