This is a truly beautiful piece, and it makes my office look much more professional. It feels sturdy and appears to be well made overall. There are, however, some minor scratches — a few are not very noticeable, but others are more visible. The finish on the edges of the wood could definitely use improvement, as it needs better coverage. Also, note that the back of the cabinet is not real wood — it’s a very light, thin material that feels more like paper. This might matter depending on where you plan to place it. This is a real wood bookcase, and it’s incredibly solid! The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The shelf was so heavy that it shipped in two boxes. I was a bit disappointed that it arrived on separate days, but I was excited to assemble it right away. The only complaints I have are a few minor things. The little stickers that cover the holes don’t match the color of the shelf. The inside top edge of the shelf wasn’t stained completely, and there are a couple of small nicks in the wood.. Pam.
