I went with Nautica because of my familiarity with the brand. I am very pleased with this comforter. It is sharp and just right for a "guy's" room (or a woman's too). For environmental responsibility it came vacuum packed but with a quick cut on the plastic the comforter puffed up nicely and has no unpleasant oder to it. It is middle of the road in terms of how thick it is, neither too heavy, nor too light. The shams are nice as well. I am used to ones with the slit in the back to slide a pillow in and out of but these actually have a small zipper which I prefer. For me I simply put old pillows into the shams for appearances so I will not be testing the zippers with any sort of frequency. Love the quilt the look and the weight. Just what I needed to make my guest room not feminine for when my son is here. What I don’t like is, as other reviews stated after just one wash it pilled up on the decorated side. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was the other side. Great solid duvet cover with shams. Purchased for teen boy. Did not smell any worse than a set of super expensive organic bamboo sheets we received the same day. They are in fact blue, just a very dark blue/grey but mostly blue (headboard of bed is dark grey for comparison).
