After assembly great looking desk. My 15 year old son assembled in about 2 hours. He took his time but had no difficulty. The desk was bought for him. There was small scratch/indention on top hutch. Came out box with scratch. I had seen reviews about the drawers not closing and such. The top drawer does have difficulty closing. It goes about halfway in and stops,I am not wanting to push it hard. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. Our solid pine cottage series desk can be used as either a desk or a vanity. The solid wood turnings and drawer front treatment emphasize the quality. Drawers are constructed using real dovetail joints and wooden drawer runners.

This is nice and lightweight but still sturdy. I love that it is solid wood. You can assemble with drawers on whichever side you choose; it gives instructions for both ways.
