This was the perfect vanity mirror light combo I needed for my basement bathroom. I have been slowly working on finishing my basement and added a small bathroom in the basement. I have a upflush system in the bathroom so I needed a vanity that is modern, not too bulky, and does not need a lot of electricity (watts). This checked all three boxes. It is super light, recessed and consumes minimal power due to LED lights. Love the three seperate light color/brightness. I had to cut a stud to get the light to be recessed, but given none of my basement studs are load bearing, that wasnt a issue. The vanity itself though is really nice and feels premium. Pros: Looks nice, gentle magnetic latching, nice lighting. Cons Cheap basic hinge, no trim around edges so wall opening must be done right. Overall the mirror looks and feels great. The lighting works great and so does defogging. It's only been a week so I hope the defogging doesn't fail like other reviewers stated. We don't use it much though. I bought two other medicine cabinets for another bathroom and this one is sub-par with only a basic piano wire type hinge along the side, not the hinges you see in modern cabinets with soft close. So there's no soft close but the doors swings smoothly when leveled properly and doesn't require a loud closure or excessive pull to open since it closes with a light duty magnetic closure. Some magnets can be too much! My installer thought he'd be able to have some leeway on the opening in the wall for a recessed install. This mirror, unlike my other two has ZERO trim around the recessed box. The mirror border is wider but if there's any gap where the box goes in the wall you WILL notice. Top and sides! The installer had to fill in the area with caulk and backer rod, and was tempted to add drywall mud. I'm not sure if you could put this mirror on a light switch as it defaults to off when powered I believe, so we did not tie it to a switch. I do appreciate the shelves in this one over our other similar medicine cabinets in that they can be adjusted after install. Many similar ones have to have shelf supports removed from the outside edge which is impossible after install! Beware! Lastly, this one does not have an outlet or lighting built in. Overall pretty happy with the cabinet. I had to install it surface mounted as I did not have the framing depth to recess it. The included screws for mounting should definitely not be used, the drywall anchor would be incredibly insufficient and fail with moderate loading of the cabinet. I installed backing in the framing prior to drywall and was able to mount it with two large screws. I also wish the electrical was able to be connected from inside the cabinet. Instead, the cabinet is delivered with a 16ga stranded wire whip that comes out of the top of the cabinet. This means that to have the cabinet lay flush to the wall I had to put a small junction box at the top of the cabinet that I will have to cover with trim later. The lighting is a great accent but insufficient as a sole light source for a bathroom if you are thinking about using it as such. Really wanted this cabinet for the interior outlets so I could keep my toothbrush out of sight, and for that it has been great. The door hinges seem to be of decent quality, they offer standard adjustments and provide a great soft close, hopefully they last. This LED medicine cabinet was not difficult to install. It arrived with all pieces carefully packaged and in perfect condition. It only took a few minutes to install on the wall and it seems very secure with the pieces provided. It is pretty large and I love all of the space.
