The privacy screens arrived yesterday and I opened one of the boxes today. There are 3 panels per screen to fasten together, and the legs to attach. Hardware was provided, as were the instructions. I bought these to help reduce the wind that we get on our deck. We have them attached to the railings. Last year we had to chase our furniture a few times during our wind storms but not this year. They worked very well as a wind break. They definitely had to be secured well to keep them in place. They look very nice and add to the look of our deck instead of taking away. Pros= Absolutely stunning!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Perfect for what I was looking for. A little bit of a barrier from our neighbors not so fishbowl vibe when sitting outside without obstructing the view of the lake or a harsh fence (unable to do so with HOA rules). It is so beautiful It has elevated my patio. I just bought more to add to my other side that doesn't even need a barrier just to add the beautiful look of these. Cons=Yes they come with a stand. However, in order for these to be left up outside and not have any fears of hurting anyone (they are heavy) they do need placement of additional support. If your placing under a covered patio should be just fine with sandbags/planters etc for added weight, however, we had ours freestanding out in the element there was absolutely no way my hubby was ok with that solution. We added the wood frame, (which honestly I think made these go from nice to breathtaking) attached it to one side of the house, and secured it to a cement bench we had, to the other side, that baby is not going anywhere. Beautiful panels, they make a super stylish setup. I purchased 6 of them for my deck, they arrived w/o scratches or hits on 2 per box arrangement, very well packaged. Now, these panels are made of some sort of wood, it is hard but easy to drill on, I used a 1/8th countersink bit with a tapper and fixed them to the side of my deck using #8 x 1 1/2" construction screws. They are about 3/8" thick, so I added a 0.665 x 1" vinyl strip behind it, to make it flush with the siding of the decking material which is 1". I also added some black landscape fabric behind to give the depth of the openings on the design and prevent bugs from entering. The result is a very unique deck which we love. Instructions say that the wood will age to gray naturally, I like it dark brown as it is, so I'll be adding some matte clear coat to prevent the aging process.
