Actual wood materials throughout which is nice. Natural color different than pictured. Trundle option is great however, wood, hardware and wheels seem a little flimsy. We purchased the blue bunks. The color is beautiful for our grandsons big boy room. My husband assembled the beds in 3- 3 12 hours. The parts were labeled and ready to go. One person can easily assemble the beds but it does require a second person to help lift the beds. The color matches the dresser perfectly. We absolutely love these bunk beds! We’ve had them for a couple of years now, and they have held up really well. We especially love how versatile they are. You can easily convert them into two separate beds, and the ability to change the ladder placement has been so convenient as our kids’ room and needs have changed. The drawers underneath have been a total lifesaver for storage, especially in a kids’ room where you can never have enough! And the railing on the top bunk is perfect for our oldest. It gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing she has that extra security while sleeping up top. My only complaint, and the reason I’m knocking off a star, is that for the price, I expected the overall quality and finish to be just a little better. We have some noticeable marks and fading where the drawers open and close, and the wood/finish has dented and gotten marked up fairly easily over the years. It’s not anything that affects the functionality, but for how much these cost, I would expect them to look a little better after normal everyday use. That being said, they are VERY sturdy, and I have never once worried about my kids’ safety while they’re sleeping in them, which honestly, is the most important thing to me. They’ve held up through years of kids climbing, playing, and sleeping in them, and overall we’ve been really happy with them. I just wish the finish was a little more durable for the price!. It was SUPER easy to put together. It had the same screws basically for everything, so it was hard to mess up. It does come in a lot of pieces, however, the slats will come in the smaller box that gets delivered which is nice. It took me about 1.5 hours with help. The tracking of the shipment was also super convenient and accurate. I was thrown off with the staircase handrail, it’s not very kid friendly to hold onto because it’s low. It does squeak a little bit when my girls climb the stairs, and can sway easy. That’s the only reason I took a star away. Otherwise it is perfect for my 2 and 3 year old to share!. Katie. My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years. Overall, still a better price point than big box stores and the value is there for us and our family. Would recommend knowing that its not perfect but functional.. Kerisah. Matthews, NC. Love the bed, sturdy and seems to be constructed well. I added the assembly and the two guys that showed up were very polite and courteous. They also got the job done in 2 hours. My only issue is when the guys (hired through Handyman) were putting it together some of the wood frame pieces were taped together.
