We needed a replacement specifically to accommodate a new adjustable base, since our old bed wasn’t compatible. We absolutely loved our previous bed and hoped to find something that wouldn’t completely compromise on style, as so many adjustable base-friendly designs tend to look cookie cutter and uninspired. We took a leap of faith ordering this bed, not fully sure it would work, but it turned out to be a good match with our existing side tables and dresser. The metal isn’t super thick, but it is sturdy enough and the price point reflects this. Assembly was easy, two of us put it together without any trouble, thanks to straightforward instructions. At first I wrote a great review for this product, however, I'm CHANGING my review! PLEASE READ! This product has cracked and separated in SEVERAL places on the headboard! We have a brand new home. This isn't from the air being "too dry". We are SOOOOO incredibly disappointed! We can't get an exchange or refund. We've only had this bed for 7 months. The cracks started about 3 months ago. We didn't think too much of it and thought it added to the "distressed" look. The cracks have gone far beyond "distressed" and are actually separating. I might add, we are old so this isn't from "romping". This product AND Wayfair receive a 1 star. Spent a LOT of money for a defective piece. Very solid and sturdy bed! It sits rather high so if you have a thick mattress keep that in mind. It turns out we didn't need a box spring, just a bunkie board. We chose the white distressed model. The distressed look was very minimal but it's still a beautiful piece. Delivery took a while but we were feeling excited and impatient to receive our new bed. Very happy with our selection!. Juli.
