The towels are a nice safe green color. They are thin. If you are looking for a nice, thick towel these are not for you. I did wash them before I used them and they did wash up well. I have used and washed them several times and they do wash up well. The bath towels are oversized and we do appappreciate that very much. They can get a bit stringy but I just cut the strings off.. My only complaint is that they aren't as thick as I was hoping but they are super soft and pretty absorbent! * I do recommend washing before using (which I did) to remove fuzz - my washer had bits of fuzz left in it and the dryer lint trap was packed with fuzz!.
