It is a sturdy table and the extension insert is easy ro put together, even though I am a senior citizen, with spine injuries. I did it myself. Many compliments were received. The negative part is that it arrived broken. The customer service was most helpful and we resolved the issue. Arrived damaged on one corner and a small dent thru the veneer on the table top. Wayfair said the manufacturer would reach out in two business days but its so heavy I dont want to handle a return. I think Ill put a coat of lacquer on it to keep my kids from scratching it. For the price this is an excellent solid table. Fits great in my small space and two wider chairs still fit side by side on the length. Absolutely beautiful, black, solid wood table! It is not engineered wood or cheap MDF. Very easy to assemble. Just add the four legs. One of the two support pieces that go on the underside of the table came unattached during shipping but it was easy to rescrew it back into place. This table is absolutely gorgeous and very sturdy. I managed to get both leaves in to extend the table without assistance, as well, though I haven't tried taking them back out yet.
