The 5 stars are for the excellent customer service that Wayfair provides. The storage bench is not as well made as I would expect it to be (perhaps 3.5 to 4 stars) since it does look nice just material used is cheap. The first one I received had a broken leg, the top thin plastic cover that protects the cushion was ripped which left a small stain and the hinge was broken on the left side. I attached a picture of the leg. Upon contacting Wayfair customer service they promptly took care of it. The replacement I received is in perfect shape. My recommendation to the manufacturer would be to put additional packaging around the legs to keep them from breaking and to use a stronger plastic wrap to protect the top cushion. What is currently used seems to be saran wrap.. Teresa. Belmont, MA. Sat Jul 02 2016

With its dark matte finish, this cedar chest works seamlessly with historic or more modern decor. This large chest has old-fashioned hardware, adding to its historic feel.

This trunk is the perfect coffee table piece! I’m awaiting two leather club chairs, so I’m not quite finished in the area. But I just moved in and do not have enough storage. This held 15 years worth of photo albums. And still is able to shift location with the handles. Not flimsy at all. What I will say is that there’s a slight red tone to the piece that I wasn’t quite expecting. It’s not a deal breaker, but I wish the rustic didn’t run red.. Laurie. Tue Jun 09 2026

Legs on the trunk are black, which almost made me not purchase it all together. Glad I did! A simple switch out with a dark brown, 8 inch set, gave a a more rich feel more height. I was compensated for the one inch trip on the underside of the lid as well. I have received tons of compliments!. Anonymous. Mon Sep 28 2026

Roomy enough for a collection of seasonal bedding or family photo albums. If you're storing surprise gifts for an upcoming birthday or even for the holiday season, you'll be happy that the lid features a lock.

I recieved my cedar chest and took one look at the box and was afraid to open. But all i saw was a dent on the top of the front. With that i went ahead and put together. No big problems. Just follow directions. It had to have been wrapped for shipment very well to have just sustained only that damage. The whole thing is not made by using 100% solid cedar or price would be much higher. But i wanted to store blankets i crochet and wollen sweaters and things of that. Cedar helps to keep bugs that love wool away. I had a beautiful light blue sweather that wasnt stored in cedar and i regretted because moth got to it and ate hole right in front. So after putting together just rubbed a little original cedarcide inside. I went on and notified wayfair about the picture of torn up box and picture of dent. Was contacted right then. Talk about fast. He asked for email and order number so he could see what the problem was. I didnt want new one just a few parts that were broken in bag and 1 missig. Great person to talk to. Its hard to find stores that stand behind their products and feedback like that. Thank you to Wayfair and the people who respect not only good feedback but about a probleem you encoutered.. Debra.
