The color is perfect, although the wood grain is painted on rather than real wood and some color rubbed off when I removed a scuff that was on the front of a drawer when I unboxed it. I bought both the 7 drawer and the 4 drawer dressers from this set and the 7 drawer dresser was much easier to assemble.
