This desk is even better than I expected! It’s very sturdy and feels like hard wood (not a scrap of veneer in sight!) and is a perfect little writing desk. It’s going in our guest room so it’ll get light use but it’s definitely up to the challenge for daily use. The wood is similar in tone and texture to butcher block but adds good warmth to the room. The top is a heavy board that is edge and finger joint glued together and finished in veneer. The legs are also fingerjointed boards. It generally looks nice, but the finish is quite sloppy. there are some rough spots where it was not thoroughly sanded too. I purchased this table because it was on sale.
