Both the directions and holes predrilled were fairly easy to assemble. Due to the size it came in 3 sections but once the first was assembled it went much faster. We are pleased with armoire as far as the way it looks but the lack of the 5th star in the rating was simply due to the material in the outer pieces. I bought this unit as well as the Arayah 63'' for a long wall. Parts came in damaged for this cabinet; however, they were quickly replaced. Putting it together wasn't too hard - just had to put the top on out of order because I wouldn't be able to assemble it and then lift it on top of the other cabinet - but it worked. Wasn't too hard to put it all together. I can't agree with all of the reviews - because its not cheaply made, very sturdy if you put it together correctly, instructions are easy enough, and looks great! Husband and wife tag team to put together the armoire. The first one took 2 hours, the second one took 1.5 hours and the third one took 1 hour so in total 4.5 hrs.
