The curtains are very pretty. All of the reviews confirm this, but let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Comparing the room darkening curtains to my blackout curtains and you can see the light permeates through. Not bad, but my blackout curtains you couldn’t tell if it was day or night outside but with the room darkening curtains you can see when it’s light outside. I have put photos to see the comparison. These are perfect for my LR windows. I ordered four panels. I needed something to block out the sun in the summer and cold now. I close the blinds but wanted additional blocking. I partially closed on panel for you to see the amount of light blocking/privacy. They have a rubber like backside. I put them in the dryer to remove the fold wrinkles before hanging. The slightly off white color blends beautifully with my light grey walls, old 2" blinds, and old white trim paint. For only fifty bucks, I couldn't go wrong!
