Depending on how much water is in the kettle and how long it’s been boiling, heat may transfer to the handle, especially with gas stoves. Please be sure the lid is tightly seated in place before heating. Gas stoves heat more of the kettle itself, allowing the heat to travel through the body of the kettle into the handle much quicker, eventually becoming too warm to grip without protection. This is so pretty! I’m doing a kitchen refresh and decided this would look great on the stovetop between the green cabinets with the off white tiles (not yet installed). The whistle is annoyingly loud, so you will hear it no matter where you are. You do have to flip the spout cover up independently of the handle I don’t mind, but you might.
