Luxembourg Garden Chairs

In 2004, Fermob asked Frederic Sofia to reinterpret the legendary chairs and armchairs of the Jardin du Luxembourg, created in 1923 in the Paris parks department workshops, and which Fermob still manufactures today for the city's public gardens. The result was a chair and armchair with distinctive lines and forms, combining the lightness and resistance of aluminum, the comfort of curved seat slats, and the practicality of a stackable frame.

Like the Luxembourg lounge chair, the Luxembourg lounge armchair features a wider seat than other pieces in the collection. While it doesn’t lean as far back as the low chair, the back is tilted just enough to combine comfortability with functional versatility. The lounge armchair features ergonomic armrests and is an excellent addition to outdoor living spaces, as its light, aluminum construction allows it to be moved and stacked with ease.

The chairs look great but there were a few issues: We ordered these in "natural" but what we got was "teak" (more reddish and not even a choice when we ordered). We purchased these at the end of the season when stock was low, and actually like the teak, so all is well. There are several reviews about about "reasonably intelligent" people having difficulties assembling these... and you can count us as two more. The instructions are fairly straightforward but getting the first step wrong can turn the process into a HUGE headache if the left and right connectors aren't positioned correctly (you might get lucky on your first try, but we didn't, and had to take everything apart, figure out the problem, and start over). The key is to make sure the gray rubber pad on each connector ends up on the BACK of the chair rear leg. Fortunately, we were cautious after reading about frustrations in previous reviews so only had to reassemble one chair. You'll be happy with the results if you get everything in the right place. Photos are attached showing the correct placement of the connectors (we wish the instructions showed this).. Ingrid. Fort Collins, CO. Wed Oct 14 2026
