The chest looks nice. The quality is good. However, the drawers only pull out about half way. Very weird. I thought about returning it but I can make it work. I read the reviews about the drawer problem but still ordered it because I liked it (I don't always trust the reviews). Also, in the product description the drawer dimensions are not listed. Great piece, I use it as an end table. The top of unit hinges open and I hide a subwoofer in there. The space measures approx 8” tall, 17.5” wide, and 16.5” deep. Value Overall a nice dresser for the price if you can catch it on sale. I also took the additional 10 discount for keeping the item with the drawer box damages. (I tried to get new boxes but they said it had to be completely returned, and I didnt want to deal with the hassle.) 2 of the 6 had some damage or weren’t well built, but for the price, it’s a chance I was willing to take because I love the visual. The drawers have to be pressed completely shut, but that doesn’t bother me since I read the reviews and expected that. Visually I would call it more of a mahogany look. The hardware is not cheap gold which I appreciate. Theres a little brass discoloration if you look closely, but no one would notice. I also chose not to put the feet on it so it could be lower for my son’s room. (The exposed corner technically doesn’t match the wood grain, but I’ll get some touch up pen to take care of that.). This accent cabinet was packaged well and not damaged. One of the drawer handles wasn’t attached, but we found all the screws and put it on, no problem. Some mentioned that it was too distressed, but I like it the way it is. It’s perfectly vintage and goes with my she-shed theme. It feels sturdy enough - not flimsy. I noticed when adding supplies that the drawers don’t have anything to keep them from coming all the way out out when opening. So I’ll just have to be careful with that. Holy moly that took maybe 6 hours to put together but I LOVE it!!! I’ve probably put 20 pieces of furniture from Wayfair together, and this was by far the hardest. I was nervous about the pre-drilled holes not lining up like in other reviews but mine were fine and honestly, the wood where the holes are is so thin you could easily drill your own. The only part I screwed up was step 3 with board number 5. Board 5 is smaller and the screws have unique placing so be sure to everything lines up perfectly when you get to step 5. I saw a lot of mixed reviews mentioning misaligned drawers and bad pre-drilled holes, but that wasnt my experience at all. While assembly was definitely time-consuming and tedious, it was pretty straightforward, and everything aligned perfectly for me. The kit does come with a Phillips head screwdriver, but like most pre-packed furniture tools, the handle isnt very comfortable. If you dont have a nicer screwdriver already, Id recommend getting one because your hand will hurt after driving so many screws. I used a cordless screwdriver, which made driving screws into the areas without pre-drilled holes a lot easier, though you could definitely manage without one. The color and dimensions are 100 accurate to the product description online. However, as other reviews have noted, the drawers are on the shallow side. More importantly, the drawer slides are set up so the drawers do not pull out all the way. There is a good 4 to 5 inches per drawer that stays inside the unit when fully opened. I think this is probably a safety feature to prevent tipping, and for my needs—storing clothing like sweatshirts and sweatpants—it really doesnt matter. That said, I would not recommend this unit if you want to store something like craft supplies, as reaching smaller items out of the back of the drawers would get annoying. The drawers do feel a little bit flimsy and loose when pulling them in and out, which is where its most obvious that this is a flat-pack piece of furniture. However, I was able to fit them together easily, they are perfectly aligned, and they stay on their tracks without any issues.
